Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody II
The Hollowbody design by Paul Reed Smith is one of my favorite contemporary guitars. They are all lightweight, loud acoustically, extremely lively, resistant to feedback and wonderfully playable. This particular example has a carved, solid Flamed Maple top and back with hollow Mahogany core, Moon inlays, Piezo bridge pickup system (in my opinion the best on any guitar- Electric or Acoustic. Period!) and a pair of PRS Archtop humbuckers for a classic electric sound. Tonally it's very versatile because you can blend the electric and acoustic sounds together or use them separately. One of my favorite is a jazzy, fat neck humbucker type tone but with a hint of piezo blended in for clarity. 5lbs, 10oz! So light it's like the guitar version of Demerol!
