Just in on consignment. This vintage 1956 Gibson LG-2 is a highly coveted, small-body vintage acoustic flat-top guitar celebrated for its woody tone, robust projection, and comfortable feel. We just got it in from the son of the original owner. Fun story – \u003cspan style=\"color: #333333;\"\u003eShe lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan and bought the guitar new at age 16. Her best friend’s father was the president of Gibson and she would regularly have dinners with their family, including whichever musicians were in town at the time. Apparently, Les Paul was a frequent guest. It has been properly strung and maintained every year and that shows. The guitar is all original and crack free.\u003c\/span\u003e The tone is fantastic and it plays wonderfully. We just setup and adjusted it in our shop so it’s ready to go.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eLike all our used \/ vintage gear it has been tested for functionality and priced to move. All original, though the original tuner buttons were crumbling so we installed a correct vintage-style replacement set of Kluson Deluxe tuners before preparing it for sale. The original tuners are included in the original chipboard case and can be reinstalled without modification. Though they will require new buttons first (which are available inexpensively). There aren’t any serious issues, damage, repairs, or modifications to the instrument. Plenty of lacquer checking as is typical of an instrument this age, along with some pick scuffs. I tried to highlight that in certain photographs. It has a great patina in person. The bridge will likely need to be reglued at some point, as you can just begin to slide a piece of paper under the back edge. However, there are also bolts holding it down (stock – this is how Gibson did it back then), hidden under the pearl dot inlays. So, it’s solid for now and not going anywhere soon. Sold as-is.
