Eastwood Guitars Black Widow - Dark Cherry - Tone Chambered Electric Guitar - NEW!
Eastwood Guitars Black Widow – Dark Cherry
Jimi Hendrix -inspired Electric Guitar
Mosrite / Acoustic / Bartell / Hohner
The Eastwood Black Widow model is based on a long lost, famously stolen “Acoustic” Black Widow guitar once owned by Jimi Hendrix (not an acoustic guitar, “Acoustic” the brand). After the original was re-discovered, Eastwood was inundated with requests to bring this ultra-rare instrument back to life! So they did, and now they have added additional color availability to the standard Black finish as well.
What was the Acoustic Black Widow? Well, for a not very well-known guitar it has a fairly complex back story. But basically, the “Black Widow” was branded under the “Acoustic” name, as well as “Bartell” and even Hohner. While most were built in Japan, many were actually built by Semi Mosely of Mosrite fame. Due to the Semie Moseley connection and Eastwood's affinity for so many of his cool designs, they thought it would be a fitting tribute to update their version of the Black Widow guitar with the familiar Mosrite-style headstock.
This new version is very close to the original with a tone-chambered Mahogany body, Rock Maple set-neck construction, 25 1/2" scale with zero fret, 1 5/8" at nut, 24 frets, dual volume and tone controls with a 3-way switch, and high-output Custom P-90 pickups.
