The Starplayer DTV is a deluxe semi-hollow body guitar and it's the perfect hybrid of the best vintage Gibsons (ES-330's and 335's) mixed with a little bit of Gretsch and sprinkled with a bit more functionality and tonal clarity than it's classic counterparts. A custom-wound DP90 pickup (like a classic P-90) in the neck position along with the vintage wound Humbucker in the bridge position (like a really good PAF) give this guitar the feel and tone of a cherished vintage instrument!!! We love the Duesenberg tone! This is just checking in the lacquer however- like any properly lacquer finished, vintage-style instrument would develop in time and not at all a structural issue. The original hardshell case is also included and in nice shape, but completely covered in stickers. Nothing a little work with your fingernails and Naptha wouldn’t take care of. Overall it is in very nice condition- still has the little sticker on the pickgaurd. There really isn’t any significant play wear to speak of, dings, dents, repairs, etc… There is a significant amount of very fine lacquer checking on the fingerboard and some around where the neck and body join. This is just checking in the lacquer however- like any properly lacquer finished, vintage-style instrument would develop in time and not at all a structural issue. The original hardshell case is also included and in nice shape, but completely covered in stickers. Nothing a little work with your fingernails and Naptha wouldn’t take care of. This one has the Relic finish package so it's lightly worn to replicate the patina of a vintage instrument. There is some hardware tarnishing, tasteful dings and dents, etc.... It's all original factory wear, however, and the guitar is in very clean original condition. This guitar has also been spec'd with a 9.5\" fingerboard radius and 6105 frets for increased playability as well as a 5-way switch for increased tonal versatility.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSonically speaking this guitar is outstanding. The headstock suffered a break at some point in it's life too, but it has been professionally repaired and is almost unnoticable. I tried hard to get a photo from an angle that made it look as apparent as possible. Again, the repair is pro and it is solid as a rock now.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe frets are hefty and still have plenty of life but appear to have been dressed down at some point. I do not believe this is a refret due to the fact that there is still evidence of the original binding nubs (those usually disappear completely if the guitar has been refretted). There is also some wear in the fingerboard iteself. Overall this guitar is in nice shape cosmetically although there are plenty of dings, dents and wear that create a nice vintage patina. You don't even need to plug this guitar in to know it will sound like god. Want clean? Just roll back on the volume. Want gain? Roll up.
