1969 Martin D-35 - Stunning Brazilian Rosewood / Sitka Spruce - Vintage Acoustic Guitar - USED!
1969 Martin D-35
Used / Vintage Acoustic Guitar!
Stunning Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides!!!
Just in on consignment from the Original Owner!
Used! Just in on consignment from the Original Owner with Original Receipt! This vintage, 1969 Martin D-35 is an absolutely fantastic sounding instrument. This 14-fret Dreadnought features typical style-35 appointments of the era including an incredibly beautiful set of Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides with matching Headstock overlay (so, no international shipping on this one – sorry), A Sitka Spruce Top, Ebony Fingerboard and Bridge, and other elegant appointments like binding throughout, multi-ply purfling and other adornments. The 1 11/16” nut width and killer Soft V neck profile on this make it one of the most comfortable guitars of the era I have ever played (often the necks can be a bit bulky, and this neck is not unusually small by any means, but it is very comfortably carved and not quite as full as some can be). This guitar is all dialed in and ready to go. The neck set is perfect (I can’t say if it has ever been reset – but it does not need to be), the bridge is lightly shaved (just a bit) and there is a decent amount of saddle protruding – so room to adjust in either direction to taste. It appears to have been refretted some time ago, and we did a fresh level setup before listing, so that’s all been handled. The action is a perfect 3/32” on the bass side and 1/16” on the treble side at the 12th fret. The bridge pins have been upgraded to fossilized Mammoth Ivory.
Like all our used/vintage gear this one has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Very nice condition without any serious issues, damage, repairs, etc… other than mentioned above. Ready for another 57 years of fun! Original Hard Case included, along with the original buyer’s receipt – the same buyer who is currently consigning this for sale. There is also an old Gruhn appraisal included from 2004, which is not necessarily relevant today, but it’s cool case candy and signed by George
