Piet comes with a comfy, contoured Dolphin body shape crafted from solid Alder and this one has a Maple neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard. WOW! Nik Huber is making some of the most consistently fantastic instruments I have been lucky enough to have for sale through my shop. Every time I get one in, the entire staff is floored by its magnificence. The tone is always astonishingly loud, clear and bell-like acoustically. It resonates in your hands like a living, breathing creature. Cosmetically every detail is perfect. From the fit and finish to the fret work to the incredible wood selection. Nik never disappoints. His unique instruments often draw inspiration from Icelandic nature and Norse heritage, but one of the most interesting aspects of his guitars comes in the way that Iceland’s most famous geological phenomenon is utilized in the building process. The guitar bodies are actually submerged in a scalding hot volcanic spring and rubbed with mud, which nourishes them with natural minerals and gives the wood a unique look that’s akin to old leather… It’s not an easy process and it can be dangerous, the water temperature often exceeds 100 degrees Celsius, but it helps to capture the old worn-leather look of the Viking uniform.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular instrument is the Mjolnir model from the “Viking Series”. Its familiar, single cutaway design features a 24 ¾” scale length. It is constructed from hand-selected woods like Honduras Mahogany and Ebony, adorned with Aluminum plates and fitted with Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups, Gotoh bridge and tuners. Its familiar, single cutaway design features a 24 ¾” scale length. His unique instruments often draw inspiration from Icelandic nature and Norse heritage, but one of the most interesting aspects of his guitars comes in the way that Iceland’s most famous geological phenomenon is utilized in the building process. The guitar bodies are actually submerged in a scalding hot volcanic spring and rubbed with mud, which nourishes them with natural minerals and gives the wood a unique look that’s akin to old leather… It’s not an easy process and it can be dangerous, the water temperature often exceeds 100 degrees Celsius, but it helps to capture the old worn-leather look of the Viking uniform.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular instrument is the Mjolnir model from the “Viking Series”. Its familiar, single cutaway design features a 24 ¾” scale length. It is constructed from hand-selected woods like Honduras Mahogany and Ebony, adorned with Aluminum plates, and fitted with Dominger pickups, a Wilkinson string-through bridge and Gotoh tuners. With reverence for the past while at the same time wanting to make the best use of the materials at hand, Fabrizio Paoletti began tapping his supply of the 130-170 year old Chestnut wood, formerly used to craft wine barrels for the old family business.
