To commemorate his company’s 25th anniversary, Dr Z has decided to make a limited run of 50 Carmen Ghia heads in the look and size of the original.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original Carmen Ghia heads were built from repurposed Hammond reverb units. Using these small chassis and vintage transformers, Dr Z was able to build a unique tube guitar amplifier that had its own voice. The distinct sound of the Carmen Ghia had a lot to do with custom circuitry- including the phase inverter and the EQ network- as well as features like the materials used for the output transformer and the use of a global negative feedback loop. The success of this amp allowed the company to grow and establish its core principles: making distinctive designs, with simple features, at an affordable price.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 25th Anniversary Carmen Ghia has the exact same tonal character as the regular Carmen Ghia, but comes in a much smaller box and includes new features like 16 ohm speaker output jack and Master Volume. Dial the Master Volume all the way up and you’ll be taking it completely out of the circuit. The variety of tones and sounds found in this rather modest looking amp is what leaves so many people floored from the first note.
