Road Case, Serial No. B012944 (head), Serial No. 2275150CL (cab)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis half-stack is one of two used by Eric Clapton during the Arms Benefit US Tour in December 1983. It was modified for Clapton by the Music Man workshop before shipping. Modifications to the head include conversion of the Bright switch circuit to a Mid-Shift circuit and the addition of an Effects Loop. The BRIGHT switch has been re-labelled MID-SHIFT to reflect the mod. Two additional jacks marked PRE AMP LINE OUT and POWER AMP LINE INPUT are installed on the back panel. The 2x12 Speaker Cabinet is a 1970s open-back style cabinet with the initial E stenciled on the back panel, a pair of 12-inch JBL blue label K120 alnico speakers, and a blue flight case with THE DUCK BROS. stencil on one side and the number 14 on all sides. This amp sounds absolutely killer. The first channel is not currently working. The second channel works great. You do need a footswitch (not included) to operate the Reverb and Tremolo. Cosmetically, it shows wear and tear consistent with age and use but no serious issues or damage. Road Case, Serial No. B012944 (head), Serial No. 2275150CL (cab)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis half-stack is one of two used by Eric Clapton during the Arms Benefit US Tour in December 1983. It was modified for Clapton by the Music Man workshop before shipping. Modifications to the head include conversion of the Bright switch circuit to a Mid-Shift circuit and the addition of an Effects Loop. The BRIGHT switch has been re-labelled MID-SHIFT to reflect the mod. Two additional jacks marked PRE AMP LINE OUT and POWER AMP LINE INPUT are installed on the back panel. The 2x12 Speaker Cabinet is a 1970s open-back style cabinet with the initial E stenciled on the back panel, a pair of 12-inch JBL blue label K120 alnico speakers, and a blue flight case with THE DUCK BROS. stencil on one side and the number 14 on all sides. This amp sounds absolutely killer. The first channel is not currently working. The second channel works great. You do need a footswitch (not included) to operate the Reverb and Tremolo. Cosmetically, it shows wear and tear consistent with age and use but no serious issues or damage. There was a small crack on one side of the slotted headstock which was also re-glued and the neck was oversprayed with a thin coat of satin nitro for a great feel. The neck has a lovely, comfy, soft V profile. It was reset, the fingerboard leveled and refretted, and an upgraded cone was installed. Action is 4\/32\" on the bass side and 3\/32\" on the treble side at the 12th fret. There was a small crack on one side of the slotted headstock which was also re-glued and the neck was oversprayed with a thin coat of satin nitro for a great feel. No serious sanding or reshaping or loss of patina.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe original Frosted Duco finish is well worn, and if you could visualize what years of tone sound like, this would be it. The amp was never regularly gigged but was studio used. It shows some minor signs of use cosmetically but was well cared for overall and does not have any serious issues, damage, repairs, or modifications. This amp is one of the first Empire models produced back in 2011 and was originally purchased new from our shop, Make’n Music. We are happy to have it back in the store for sale again. Included in this “Half Stack” is the 65 Amps Empire Head and matching 2x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet loaded with a pair of great sounding Celestion Speakers – The G12H30 and an Alnico Blue. The amp was never regularly gigged but was studio used. It shows some minor signs of use cosmetically but was well cared for overall and does not have any serious issues, damage, repairs, or modifications. Like all our used\/vintage gear it has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. It was designed by Peter Stroud and Dan Boul to be hyper-functional and deliver real, classic, British tone, not just a good imitation. The Empire represents over four years of ultra-detailed research into the subtleties of several eras of EL34 based British amps ranging from the mid-sixties up through the ‘90s. Peter, Dan and crew, have successfully pulled off the hat-trick of making 6V6s sound exactly like vintage EL34s. With over 20 years of pursuit, they have found the exact formula! With one switch of the foot pedal you can switch between first and second voice.
