13 watt Boutique Tube Guitar Amplifier

Balthazar Amps was founded by Balthazar de Ley, a veteran studio technician for the Smashing Pumpkins. His designs strive to deliver vintage-inspired amplifiers that offer up versatility and an elegant simplicity. They should allow you to go from glittering clean to raw crunch with the turn of you guitar’s volume knob, or the hardness of your pick attack, or the addition of your favorite pedal. And they aren’t afraid to throw out the playbook, updating older designs with modern features, unique styling, and most of all, distinctive tones that will set you apart in a world of clones.

The Cabaret 13 is a boutique tube guitar amplifier hand-made in Chicago, IL. The smallest Balthazar yet, the Cabaret is a 1x10” combo designed for the bedroom, studio, and smaller stage. This amp features a new preamp, thicker and darker than the Film Noir line, capable of going from Brown/Blonde tones at lower volumes to classic British rage when cranked. The unique bias tremolo can go from subtle to intense, including over-the-top “Crimson and Clover” and “How Soon Is Now” vibes. Wrap it in authentic tube spring reverb, and life is a cabaret!

Just in on consignment! Like all our used/vintage gear this has been tested for functionality and priced to move. No serious issues, damage, excess wear and tear, etc... The amp is very clean and collector owned. Never gigged or used outside the smoke free home studio. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get.

First off, it sports an unbelievably cool, original vintage patina with plenty of desirable lacquer checks and just the right amount of wear that shows this instrument was played, and for good reason – It sounds and plays fantastic! No breaks! The original vintage lightning bolt bridge and tremolo are included in the case, but a genuine Leo Quan Badass bridge is currently installed for functionality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eIt’s on consignment from a local client \/ musician. The vintage-style slide switch pickup selector has been replaced with a high quality 3-way toggle, which is more practical. No routing or modifications have been done to the body, and this mod is reversable to stock. The original vintage pickguard is shrunken and has some cracks, but it functions fine and looks the part. There are some dings, dents, and wear from use, but the headstock is fully intact with no breaks there, or anywhere else. It has been professionally re-fretted by a well-known local luthier (Geoff Benge) and sports a new bone nut. We did a fresh and complete, professional setup when it came in, so it’s ready to deliver another 60 years of diligent service.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eBoth pickups are original and I believe the other electronic components other than the previously mentioned pickup selector are also included, though the date codes are obscured by solder.
